Again this year the MCTA is proud to welcome you to experience the thrill of eventing in a
most supportive environment. At the Starter Horse Trial we strive to make the day fun and encouraging for all participants. Great place to begin, or try a new level!
Levels Offered: Elementary (up to 2ft), Intro (up to 2ft 3in), Beginner Novice (up to 2ft 7in), and Novice (up to 2ft 11in). All divisions to be divided Horse, Rider (Jr., Sr.) and Open as entries warrant. Note your division preference on the entry form.
Course is over rolling hills with water, banks and ditches when appropriate. Dressage rings are sand and indoor, and Dressage warm-up areas are on grass.NOTE: Dressage tests have changed this year. Here are the tests for each division:

From 70. 70 East to 695 west north toward Towson/Reisterstown From 695, take exit 27 B. Rt. 146 North Dulaney Valley Road. Follow Dulaney Valley 4.9 miles, cross reservoir stay striaght thru light remaining on 146 nroth now called Jarrettsville Pike, continue 4.8 miles until Jacksonville, go thru light take 2nd right onto Stansbury Mill Road. Follow 0.8 miles (thru stop sign) to farm on the right
From 495/95. 495 to 95 north to 695 west north towards Towson/Reisterstown. From 695, take exit 27 B. Rt. 146 North Dulaney Valley Rd. Follow Dunaley Valley 4.9 miles,cross reservoir stay striaght thru light remaining on 146 nroth now called Jarrettsville Pike, continue 4.8 miles until Jacksonville, go thru light take 2nd right onto Stansbury Mill Road. Follow 0.8 miles (thru stop sign) to farm on the right
From 695. Take exit 27 from east 27 B from the west Rt. 146 Dulaney Valley Rd. and follow for 4.9 miles, cross reservoir stay striaght thru light remaining on 146 nroth now called Jarrettsville Pike, continue 4.8 miles until Jacksonville, go thru light take 2nd right onto Stansbury Mill Road. From the North. Heading south on I-95 take exit 74 Rt. 152 Mountain Road. turn right at top of exit follow Mountain Rd. Rt. 152 for 11.8 miles to Hess rd. Turn left onto Hess Rd. follow to light turn left onto Jarretsville Pike follow Rt. 146 Jarrestville Pike for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Manor Rd. go to top of hill turn left onto Stansbury Mill Rd. follow 0.4 miles farm on the right
From Rt 1 South. Take to Rt 23 south to left onto rt. 165 to light right at light onto Mountain rd. (152) go 1 mile to Left on Hess Rd. Turn left onto Hess Rd. and follow to light turn left onto Jarretsville Pike. follow Rt. 146 Jarrestville Pike for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Manor Rd. go to top of hill turn left onto Stansbury Mill Rd. follow 0.4 miles farm on the right
From 83 South. From 83 South from PA, take exit 36 Rt. 439 at top of exit turn right onto 439 follow 7-8 miles to "T" stop and turn right onto Rt. 23 Norrisville Rd. Go 3.5 miles to the flashing stop light and turn right onto Rt. 146 Jarrestville Pike follow 5-6 miles to stop light Hess Rd. Go through light and about 3/4 mile to a left onto Allison Road. Follow 3/4 miles, take sharp right onto Stansbury Mill Road. Farm is 2nd drive on the left.
