Again this year the MCTA is proud to welcome you to experience the thrill of eventing in a
most supportive environment. At the Starter Horse Trial we strive to make the day fun and
encouraging for all participants. Great place to begin, or try a new level!
Levels Offered: Elementary (up to 2 ft), Intro (up to 2ft 3in), Beginner Novice (up to 2ft 6in), and Novice (up to 2ft 11in). All divisions to be divided Horse, Rider (Jr., Sr.) and Open as entries warrant. Note your division preference on the entry form.
Course is over rolling hills with water, banks and ditches when appropriate. Dressage rings and warm up areas are on grass. Novice rides USEF 2006 Novice Test B, all other levels ride USEF 2006 Beginner Novice Test B. Stadium jumping is on grass.

Help before the event and you can still ride in the competition and work toward those 8 volunteer hours needed for year end awards. Directions: I-95 / I-495 to exit 11 a (Pennsylvania Avenue extended/ Rte 4 (toward Upper Marlboro). Go through 3 traffic lights, at top of hill, exit Rte 223 Woodyard Road (Mellwood and Clinton). Go all the way down exit ramp onto Woodyard Road, get immediately into left lane and turn left at light onto Osborne Road. After one mile, will pass bunch of black mailboxes on left, make immediate left turn onto Farm Road. One mile on Farm Road (bear right at fork) (6350 South Osborne Road on Farm Road) follow signs for parking.
