The Maryland Combined Training Association sponsors and organizes a nationally recognized horse trial in May at Shawan Downs near Hunt Valley, Maryland with Novice through Advanved levels. This competition, one of the oldest USEA events in the country, will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2012.  The club also manages two un-recognized horse trials each year. One, simply known as the Starter Event, is held in early summer and the other, the "Jenny Camp" takes place in the fall.  Like the event as Shawan Downs, Jenny Camp will also have its 40th renewal in 2012.
