2013 MCTA JENNY CAMP HORSE TRIALS Entry Form

ENTRY FEE: MCTA members $75. Non-members $90. Make checks payable to MCTA. Refunds before closing date full less $15 office fee; after closing date none. Limited to 130 rides. MCTA members given preference at drawing date; please state if you are currently an MCTA member.
TENTATIVE TIME SCHEDULE: Saturday October 26 - Cross country course open 3 pm. Sunday, October 27 - Dressage 8:00 am; Stadium 9:00 am; Cross Country 9:30 am.
AWARDS: Trophy and 8 ribbons; 6 dressage ribbons per division. Many Trophies awarded to MCTA members. Divisions may be combined or divided at the Organizer’s discretion.
START TIMES: Online Thursday before event; or from secretary Thursday or Friday evening the week prior to event before 9:30 pm only.
DRESSAGE TESTS: TrainingUSEF 2010 Training Test A; Novice - 2010 USEF Novice Test A; Beginner Novice – 2010 USEF Beginner Novice Test B; Introductory - 2010 USEF Beginner Novice Test A; all rings are on grass.
CROSS COUNTRY: This is not a “starter horse trials”. Courses will ask similar questions as the recognized event with options offered to reduce the complexity. Courses are over rolling hills with water, bank, and ditches. Introductory – not to exceed 2’3”, approx 1200 m. not timed. Beginner Novice – not to exceed 2’7”, approx 1800 m. at 325 m/m, timed. Novice – not to exceed 2’11”, approx 2200 m. at 375 m/m, timed. Training – not to exceed 3’3”, approx. 2200 m. at 420 m/m timed. Training is intended to be an introduction to training level and will share all the XC same fences as the Novice.
STADIUM: Introductory - not to exceed 2’3” not timed; Beginner Novice - not to exceed 2’7” @ 300 m/m; Novice - not to exceed 2’11” @ 320 m/m; Training not to exceed 3’3” @ 325 m/m. All courses run on grass.
DIRECTIONS: Shawan Downs, 1401 Shawan Rd., Cockeysville, MD 21030.
From I‑695 (Baltimore Beltway): I‑83 North to Exit 20B. Go west on Shawan Rd. 1.4 miles. Entrance to Shawan Downs on right.
From Pennsylvania: take I-83 South, take Exit 20B, proceed as directed above. Easy access to I-83.
OTHER INFORMATION: Vet on call. Blacksmith available. No water, bring your own. Please leave all dogs at home. Cross country course will not be open for schooling following the event. Food available. Event will follow USEA rules for Combined Training. Body protectors and medical armbands required.
ADDITIONAL RULES: Organizer reserves the right to divide divisions into sections based on age and experience. Failure to complete experience fields on the entry may result in entry being placed in an Open section. Open sections are for horses and riders who have completed four or more horse trials at this level or higher. MCTA Bucks will be accepted for payment.
